COVID-19 Church Update 12/3/2020
Dear FBC Family,
Let me first extend my warmest Christmas greetings! In these trying times, it brings great peace and joy to know we can celebrate the birth of our Lord and King and to remember that we have already been given the greatest gift we could ever hope for – salvation through the blood of Jesus!
As I mentioned in my previous letter, our church council is continuing to meet and monitor the ongoing COVID situation. Our desire is to provide opportunities for worship and fellowship while at the same time operating in such a way that reduces the risk of exposure and transmission of this deadly virus. With that mind, let me quickly share with you some important updates regarding our worship services and ministry programs.
We still have Sunday morning worship at 8:00 & 10:30!
We will maintain our commitment to provide in-person worship services for all who desire to attend. However, we will still be requiring masks and social distance at our 8:00am services and encouraging, but not requiring, those safety measures at our 10:30am service. We will continue to broadcast our morning worship online through Facebook (@FarmingtonFBC) and over the radio (KREI 800AM.)
All other programing, minus a few exceptions, will remain cancelled through December.
In order to limit the number of opportunities for exposure and transmission, all other ministries will not meet until January of 2021. This includes Sunday School, our children and youth programs, and the majority of music ministry. However, we are working with several small group ministries like our women’s Bible study groups, Wednesday prayer meetings, and others to allow them to resume meeting with new safety guidelines as soon as possible. Also, we are currently working on a few special Christmas events over the next few weeks. More details will be available soon. If you have questions about a specific ministry, program, or event, please contact the office.
As I just mentioned, the current plan of the church council is to resume all normal activities starting the first week of January. Our leadership will continue to meet on a regular basis and will adjust this schedule as needed based upon changing circumstances. As always, we welcome your feedback and suggestions and ask for your ongoing prayers.
